Canada Post Graduate Work Permit

Do you wish to work after graduating from a school in Canada?

You could do so with a Canada post graduate work permit.

Post-graduation work permits (PGWPs) are open work visas granted to foreign students who complete a program of study in Canada.

The holder of a PGWP is permitted to work for any employer, as many hours as desired, and anywhere in Canada.

PGWPs are an excellent method to gain priceless Canadian work experience and are valid for eight months to three years. Once a candidate has worked in Canada, many avenues for obtaining Canadian permanent residence become available.

What is Canada Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)?

Post graduate work permits are mainly for foreign students. Foreign students who have passed through a Canadian Designated Learning Institution are eligible for post-graduation work permits (PGWPs) (DLI).

Due to the fact that PGWPs are open work permits, foreign students are able to work for any employer, wherever in Canada.

In contrast to the majority of work permits in Canada, the PGWP does not demand a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

PGWPs give qualified graduates the chance to get relevant Canadian work experience.

Many foreign nationals can apply for Canada’s permanent residency programs, which include one of the following routes, after accumulating sufficient work experience here.

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
  • Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP)
