1.Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category

• Must be an accomplished temporary foreign worker or a graduated international student.
• Graduates from an accredited education or training program at a public or accredited private post-secondary vocational institution in Manitoba.
• The academic or occupational program had to be full-time and last a calendar year.
• The applicant must have finished the program and received a diploma, degree, or certificate.
• Must possess a full-time, permanent job offer from their present Manitoba employer.
• Must have spent at least six months working continuously at their present Manitoba employer.
• Must possess a current work permit or post-graduation permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
• Must possess all necessary training, education, and licenses or certifications for the position.
• Must possess a knowledge of the English language sufficient to carry out the responsibilities outlined in their job description.
• Must have deeper links to Manitoba through their employment than they could have to another province.
• Must demonstrate through a settlement plan that they are capable of settling in Manitoba as a permanent resident and that they intend to do so.
• Must provide proof of enough settlement funds, typically, the applicant pays CAD 10,000, plus CAD 2,000 for each dependent included on the application.

Minimum Requirements for Employers

Organizations providing job offers must meet the following requirements: 

• Be formed or registered to a provincial or federal law.
• Be conducting business as a company with a firmly established facility, office, or location in Manitoba.
• Show the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program that you are a reputable company with the ability to provide the applicant with full-time, long-term work in Manitoba.
• Provide the applicant with an offer of employment letter that is signed, printed on business letterhead, and includes all pertinent job-related information.

2. Skilled Worker Overseas Category

For competent skilled workers who are abroad but can show a strong connection to the province, there is a category called Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas. 

Candidates are evaluated for this program using a points-based system that takes into account their age, language competence, work experience, education, and adaptability.

Eligibility Requirements For Applicants

Candidates for this category must meet the requirements below:

• Must receive a minimum rating of 60 out of 100 on the points evaluation grid.
• Establish a connection to Manitoba by providing evidence such as letters of support from friends or family, proof of prior employment or education, or an invitation to apply from the MPNP.  

Manitoba Support

An established resident of the province who is the applicant’s friend or relative and is willing and able to review and support the applicant’s plan for relocating to and finding employment in their destination location is referred to as a Manitoba Supporter. 

A close relative, acquaintance, or distant relative of the applicant who is also a Manitoba Supporter must be:

• Able to show sufficient close ties to the applicant and Manitoba.
• Able to show that any applications they previously supported resulted in successful, permanent economic establishment.
• Able to provide documents proving they reside and are established in Manitoba and have been living in the province continuously for at least one year.  
• Must have a business in Manitoba and be able to support the settlement plan of the applicant.

Manitoba Experience

Manitoba Experience refers to the previous residence in the province as an international student or as a temporary foreign worker.

Your connection to Manitoba is your experience, but to be qualified for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, you must also show that the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Self-assessment Worksheet can award you enough points for your language proficiency, employability, education, age, and adaptability.

You must have previously completed at least six months of continuous full-time employment with a Manitoba company.

You’ll have to send a copy of your Manitoba work permit and a reference letter from your employer, both signed and on business letterhead.

You must have participated in and completed a recognized education or training program as an international student at a public or accredited private vocational post-secondary institution in Manitoba.

Manitoba Invitation

• Adaptability

When Not to Apply

The following individuals should not apply under the Skilled Worker Stream:

• Self-employed people, proprietors of businesses, sole proprietors, or those working as independent contractors for the company submitting their application.
• Ministers of religion.
• Persons who have applied for asylum or are subject to a federal appeal or removal process.
• Presently residing live-in caregivers in Canada.
• Temporary foreign workers who are presently residing and working outside of Manitoba.
• Spouses of Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
• Those who have had their applications turned down by the MPNP during the past six months are unable to explain why.
• Anyone who has a pending application for immigration through another Canadian province’s program.

Manitoba Provincial Overview Of Nominee Program- Business Investor Immigration Stream

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program for Business is a stream that enables Manitoba to identify and nominate qualified business people who intend to live in the province, have the financial means to make a sizable investment in a new or existing company, and can actively participate in management. 

The MPNP-B issues a Letter of Advice to Apply to the most qualified individuals, inviting them to apply. 

Candidates have 60 days from the time they receive a Letter of Advice to Apply to the program.

Eligibility Requirements Of Applicants

To be qualified under this category, applicants must:

• Have a minimum provable personal net worth of CAD 350,000.
• Have three or more successful years of business ownership and management, or five years of executive-level experience as a senior manager;

Refundable Deposit

An applicant must provide a  deposit of $100,000 CDN after receiving a nomination from the MPNP-B. 

The deposit will be fully and interest-free reimbursed once the applicant has complied with the terms and conditions of the Deposit Agreement. 

The payment will also be returned to the applicant if they decide to withdraw their application before arriving in Canada as permanent residents.

When Not to Apply

Do not apply if:

• You are barred from entering Canada.
• You have an unresolved refugee claim in Canada.
• You are present there unlawfully.
• You are the target of a deportation order in Canada.
• You possess a pending application with another Canadian Provincial Nominee Program.
• If starting a main producing farming operation is your goal.
• You had a prior MPNP-B application rejected during the previous 12 months.

Manitoba Provincial Overview Of Nominee Program- Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative

Under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, the Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative actively participates in the identification of new permanent residents for the neighborhood. 

Successful candidates will be granted permanent residency in Canada, along with any dependent family members.
